A look back at a key event in the energy sector, held at the Salons de l'Hôtel des Arts et Métiers. The main challenge was to provide a real-time photo report for France Gaz's social networks.

On September 19, 2023, as a professional photographer, I had the opportunity to cover the France Gaz Annual Conference, held in an exceptional venue: Les Salons de l'Hôtel des Arts et Métiersin Paris.

An annual event for the energy sector, focusing on the energy transition, industry cooperation and high-level exchanges.

Clear customer demand: efficiency, spontaneity, impact

My mission: to produce a complete and responsive photo report, including :

• Ambient photos highlighting the venue, the audience, the moments of exchange and the visual staging of the congress.
• Interaction between speakers, captured naturally during round tables and speeches
• Live delivery of retouched photos for France Gaz's social networks during the event.

This type of service requires both constant anticipation of highlights, and the ability to quickly sort, retouch and transmit images ready for publication.

Rising to the challenge of "Rethinking energy

The day was punctuated by in-depth discussions on the issues of energy sovereignty, training, decarbonization, and cooperation between gas and electricity systems.

Speakers include :

• Pascal Housset, President of UMGCCP: "Let's work with local craftsmen, who are familiar with the characteristics of the regions".
• Antoine Armand, MP and rapporteur on energy sovereignty
• Marie-Noëlle Battistel, MP for Isère: "To find a common path, we need to go beyond the scenarios".
• Patrick Martin, MEDEF Chairman: "The two key issues for the future are training and energy, whatever the size of the company".
• Catherine MacGregor, CEO of ENGIE: "Gas filling and storage rates exceed 90%".
• Patrick Pouyanné, Chairman and CEO of TotalEnergies, concluded the congress with a powerful speech on the role of gas in the energy transition.

All exchanges were documented in images, with particular attention paid to capturing the expressions, listening skills and commitment of each individual.
